Applications are open for the second edition of the competition in the field of sports law – SLAM (Sports Law Arbitrary Moot). The competition is intended for students from all over the world who want to upgrade their theoretical knowledge to practical examples in the field of sports law. Team registration is possible until December 1, 2020.

After a successful completion of the first SLAM competition despite the epidemic, the start of the next edition is just around the corner. SLAM enables direct experience with sports law practice, in-depth cooperation with experts in the field of sports law and provides students with invaluable experience, credit points at their faculty, and brings the best teams additional awards related to the field of sports law. The finalists will once again defend their theses before world-renowned arbitrators.

The deadline for “early bird” registration is November 15, and the final deadline for team registration is December 1, 2020.

The finals will be hosted by Ljubljana, Slovenia

The competition is open to all students at law schools and other institutions that offer a law program. Each participating institution can apply one team consisting of three students. Upon receipt of the assignment, the teams will have some time to ask additional questions and obtain clarifications on the case, after which each team will prepare a written memorandum. The finalists will compete in oral proceedings in the final, which is scheduled for 30 and 31 March 2021, and will be hosted by Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In the first edition of the SLAM competition, the University of Belgrade defeated the team of the University of Maribor in the finals.

The SLAM competition is organized by the Sport Lex Institute for Sports Law, established with the aim of ensuring the development and better knowledge of sports law in Slovenia and the world.
