Students are able to register for the Sports Law Arbitration Moot (SLAM) competition only until Monday, January 27, 2020. The competition is designed for students who wish to expand their theoretical knowledge in the field of sports law with hands-on use cases.
The organizers inform that students, who want to test themselves in solving practical cases, have time to register only until January 27, 2020. This is an international competition and is open to law students attending universities and other institutions in Europe, which offer certified law programs.
All the registered teams will receive a case on January 29, 2020 to solve. They will have time until February 7, 2020 to ask additional questions and clarify the case, and then each team will prepare a written memorandum by March 13, 2020. On April 1, 2020, finalists will be announced, who will compete in the finals in oral proceedings. The finale will air on May 7-8, 2020 and will be hosted by Ljubljana.
SLAM will provide a direct encounter with practical examples and in-depth cooperation with experts from the field of sports law, thus allowing students to gain invaluable experience. The finalists will get a chance to defend their thesis before renowned arbitrators. The students’ knowledge will be tested and evaluated by Antonio Rigozzi, Ulrich Haas, Aleš Galič, Maurice Curvoisier and Despina Mavromati.
